Changed 2026-10-14: this policy now covers every state's calculator, the $29 worksheet PDF and its payment processor (Stripe), and what the site keeps in your browser's storage.

The short version

The free calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your income, custody timeshare, number of children, and filing status are never transmitted to our servers. We can't see them, log them, or share them.

What runs where

• Calculator math. Each state's support formula and the tax math execute as client-side JavaScript that we ship to your browser once at page load. Your answers are processed in memory on your device and discarded when you close the tab.
• Static pages. Pages like this one are static HTML served from a CDN. Loading them creates an entry in the standard web-server access log (IP, timestamp, page) that our hosting provider retains briefly for abuse prevention. We do not query that log to identify users.

What we do collect

Beyond what your browser exposes by default to any website (IP address visible to our hosting provider, your browser's user-agent string), we use Vercel Analytics for aggregate page-view counts. Vercel Analytics is privacy-friendly by design: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no PII, and no advertising pixels. It records page-level events (which page was viewed, country of visitor) without identifying individuals.

We also record a few anonymous product events through Vercel Analytics: that a checkout was started, completed, cancelled or failed; that a PDF was downloaded and whether it was a first or repeat download; the purpose you choose if you answer the optional question after purchase; and a yes/no flag for whether you arrived from a family-law or mediation website (never which page). None of these events contain your income, custody or family inputs.

We do not run third-party advertising trackers, fingerprinting scripts, or session-replay tools.

Paying for the PDF

The $29 worksheet PDF is paid through Stripe. You enter your payment details on Stripe's checkout page, not ours, and Stripe handles them under its own privacy policy. We never see your card number. We can see the transaction record Stripe keeps (amount, time, and the email address you give Stripe for your receipt). Your calculator inputs are not sent to Stripe or to us; the PDF is generated in your browser.

Cookies and your browser's storage

The site does not set cookies. It keeps a few items in your browser's local storage, on your device only:

• Your answers, just before checkout, so the calculator can restore them when Stripe sends you back. Removed after your PDF downloads, or when you choose "Start fresh."
• A purchase token that lets you re-download the PDF for 24 hours, and a count of your downloads.
• Your answer to the optional purpose question, so we don't ask twice.
• The domain of a family-law or mediation website you arrived from, if any, kept for 14 days.

You can clear all of these at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Data retention

Calculator inputs: not retained by us. Never received in the first place. PDF purchases: Stripe keeps the transaction record; we keep no copy of your inputs or your PDF.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not collect your calculator inputs, and we do not sell or share personal information. If you bought a PDF, the personal information connected to it is the transaction record held by Stripe; email us to ask what we can see or to request its deletion where the law allows.

Children

The calculator is intended for adults estimating child support obligations. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Updates to this policy will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Material changes (new data collection, new third-party processors) will be flagged at the top of this page for at least 30 days after publication.
